Julie Schenberg, MSW, LCSW
Hi there! I’m Julie, and I appreciate you taking the time to learn a bit more about me. My priority is to help you heal from the pain that trauma has left behind. If you’ve experienced harm from those around you who were supposed to care for you, whether that was a caregiver, intimate partner, or the systems and structures around us, you’ve likely been carrying the weight of those experiences for far too long. It’s normal to feel stuck or unsure about where to turn, but I want you to know that you don’t have to carry this burden alone.
I believe that everyone has the capacity of healing and growth. My approach is grounded in compassion and building a relationship where you trust me to walk alongside of you. Together, we’ll work to understand the impact of trauma on your emotions, your relationships, and your sense of self. Many of the clients I work with come to me feeling overwhelmed by intense emotions, struggling with managing relationships, or dealing with trauma symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, or emotional numbness. If this resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment where your voice is heard and valued. With a strong foundation in person-centered and trauma informed approaches, I adapt my therapeutic methods to meet the unique needs of each client. Together, we will work collaboratively to develop your therapeutic goals, identify strengths, and cultivate healing.
Healing is a journey, and it’s okay to take it one step at a time. I’m here to offer the care and guidance you need to navigate the path ahead. If you’re ready to begin, reach out, and we can start this work together.

Professional Experiences
I am always striving to stay up to date with the latest research and learn new clinical practices. I have sought specialized training in various areas:
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization)
Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence
Substance use disorders
Crisis and suicide intervention
I earned my Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Missouri in 2016 and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Missouri - St. Louis in 2019. Throughout my professional career, I’ve worked in the non-profit sector specifically with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (and their families) and survivors of intimate partner violence, commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking. The plethora of knowledge, skills and experience I’ve gained within these roles make up the therapist that I am today.
I’ve completed multiple intensive therapeutic trainings in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), substance use disorders and recovery, crisis and suicide intervention, dissociation, and trauma.
I work with adults and adolescents (12+).
