Randall Schultze, M.Ed., LPC
Taking the necessary steps to better our mental health can feel exhausting, nerve-racking and sometimes even exciting! We might believe that facing issues within ourselves or our relationships will be too painful. Maybe you've noticed a pattern of avoidance, suppression or distraction that is no longer working. It is my goal as your therapist to work collaboratively on recognizing worth, deepening self-awareness and pushing through the discomfort in order to rise above with the tools necessary to live the most fulfilled life possible.
My approach to counseling incorporates empathy with the recognition that change and growth are possible for all. It is my belief that our life experiences, both internal and external, create patterns in our ways of behaving, thinking and emoting. Some of these patterns may be helpful, some may not be. My hope as your therapist is to build a strong and trusting professional relationship that creates a safe, confidential and judgement-free environment that allows your therapeutic journey to flourish.
Clinical Areas of Interest
I gravitate toward working with couples, families, and adult individuals. My clients struggle with a wide range of mental health concerns but we may be a good fit if you have found that:
couples counseling interests you
people-pleasing has become too exhausting
identifying or expressing emotions is difficult
you've noticed a change in your relationship
you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community
you're struggling with conflict and/or communication
you want a safe space to process/understand your past
Professional Experiences
I earned a Master of Education degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri - St. Louis in 2020 with an emphasis in couples work. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Missouri. Through the past few years, I have worked in a private practice setting with mainly couples and adult individuals. I have become trained in the Gottman approach to working with couples, Emotion Focused Therapy, trauma response, and suicide prevention. I plan to continue my work and training in couples work and hope to further my education in sex therapy, human sexuality, and healthy sexual behavior.
